Alvin Trotter, Board Member
Alvin T. Trotter Jr., is a native of Los Angeles, California where he graduated from Westchester High School in 1988. He completed his undergraduate work at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration majoring in Real Estate in 1992. Since graduating from Morehouse, Alvin has gained a wealth of experiences in Real Estate and Construction where he is a licensed contractor with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), Alvin is a leader in the community as well, utilizing his leadership skill through community involvement with various community service projects and initiatives.
Mr. Trotter’s career in Construction and Real Estate have seen him hold a number of positions requiring leadership and an ability to bring people together to successfully achieve objectives. After graduating from Morehouse College, Alvin held a position as Asset Manager for several years with Atlanta based Downtown Management/Urban Suburban, Inc. Looking to expand his understanding of Real Estate and Finance, he worked as a Branch Manager for Citizens Trust Bank to service the financial needs of the Atlanta Community. Following his stint in Banking, Alvin joined Global Link, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Project Manager where he oversaw development and construction of single-family residences and remodel projects in the greater Atlanta area.
In 2002, Alvin returned to California working in the capacity of Construction Manager for Copper Hill Homes and later as the Chief Operating Officer for CHH Construction in Yucca Valley, California. He held these positions from 2002 through 2008, and was responsible for land development and construction of the Copper Hill Homes subdivision building over 250 single-family homes in the Yucca Valley community. Currently Mr. Trotter holds the position of Sr. Manager, Third Party Transportation Authority (LA Metro). He is a 2018 graduate of the CEO’s Metro Leadership Academy and utilizes his leadership skills, construction knowledge and ability to bring people together in order to build transportation and infrastructure projects throughout Los Angeles County.
Alvin is also actively involve in civic and community projects, providing leadership and community uplift as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated focusing on mentoring along with social action activities and awareness. He also works in a leadership capacity for the Bridge Builders Foundation serving on the Bridge Builders Foundation Board as a Director since 2014. Some of the numerous programs and projects where Alvin applies his skills and volunteers his time include the EE Just Saturday Science Academy, The Annual Salute and Scholarship Awards Program, the Annual Teen Health Conference, The Bridge Builders Start to Finish Mentoring Program, and the Bridge Builders Job Shadowing Program to name a few.
Alvin is happily married to Keisha Cooley-Trotter and has three (3) children - Noah (age 22), Alvin, III (deceased 2009, and Miles (age 6).
