About Us

We are Bridge Builders Foundation

Our Story

The Bridge Builders Foundation was founded in 1998, as the Zeta Rho Foundation. Founding members were all members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., (Zeta Rho Chapter). Initially, the foundation sponsored an annual scholarship event, and various community uplift and health education events.
In 2005, the foundation was tasked to design and develop supportive programs to supplement existing resources, and address service delivery deficits in the African American and other communities of color. Over the years, these programs continued to grow, and in 2016, the name was changed to the Bridge Builders Foundation to reflect a broader focus, and a more inclusive community engagement objective.
The Bridge Builders Foundation now serves over 400 youth and young adults annually through its 3 programs, and serves several hundred additional community members through its targeted community education initiatives.

Our Mission

The Bridge Builders Foundation’s mission is to remove the barriers of race, poverty, ignorance, and despair through mentoring, educational support, health care awareness, and community uplift.

Our Team

When passionate, purposeful and committed people come together, the possibilities are limitless. The mobilization of human and social capital, and shared aspirations, intellect and thought creates a movement. A movement that changes lives, uplifts communities, and expands human possibilities.

Bridge Builders Foundation has emerged as a vehicle for change, and a platform for collective community engagement. Nowhere is this better evidenced than in our pool of talented leaders and volunteers, who work tirelessly to do more, for more.

Support the Salute Scholars Program

College Scholarships to allow our students to thrive with financial support and mentorship

Our goal is to maximize college graduation rates for African American males, which is a problem. To date over $800,000 in scholarships has been awarded. With your support we’re able to annually give 100 students the financial resources to attend college, and provide individual mentorship, coaching, tutoring, and referral support to aid in their academic and professional success.
