Ken Handcox, Board Member
Kenneth Handcox is a native of Los Angeles, California. He has a multifaceted and extensive background in education, law enforcement and administration. He has over thirty years of experience in the area of professional law enforcement as a leader, manager, and investigator. He is currently retired as a Sergeant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, where he gained experience in Field Operations, Custody and Administration. Mr. Handcox has served as Interim Director of Centinela Valley Juvenile Diversion Program, an Investigator with the Los Angeles Unified School District and Los Angeles County Health Department.
Mr. Handcox has been an educator in the public school system teaching, developing and evaluating curriculums. His career has been to improve, motivate and inspire the lives of our youth. He has served as a Guidance Counselor with the Los Angeles School District and the University of Southern California. Assisted in the development of the Young Black Scholars Program, taught elementary, secondary and college level courses.
Mr. Handcox is actively involved in civic and community activities. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Urban League, NAACP, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, past Board Member National Black Peace Officers Association and a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
