Bridge Builders Foundation offers a range of programs throughout the year, from STEM education and marine science experiences to mentorship and college scholarship support. Below is a program currently accepting applications.
This hands-on marine science experience introduces scholars to Southern California's coastal ecosystems while building pathways to future STEM careers. Open to scholars in grades 4 through 10, the program is free and runs entirely in person.

Friday through Sunday, August 14-16: University of California, Santa Barbara
During the overnight weekend at UC Santa Barbara, scholars visit local beaches, tidepools, and campus research facilities, gaining exposure to marine biodiversity, ocean conservation, and STEM career pathways. The experience also builds community, fosters independence, and helps scholars envision themselves on a college campus pursuing careers in the ocean sciences.

This five-day residential program invites scholars to explore the Earth-ocean system through hands-on science and campus life at UC San Diego's Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Open to scholars in grades 11 through 12, the program is free and includes a tour of Birch Aquarium alongside daily activities on the Scripps campus and nearby beaches.

Daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Scholars will spend days learning about ocean science and conservation while building a sense of belonging and possibility in STEM careers, then experience evenings and meals on the UC San Diego campus for a true college immersion.

This week-long residential program partners with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and other leading institutions to give scholars an immersive experience in ocean science, research, engineering, and technology. Open to scholars in grades 11 through 12, the program is free and centers the intersection of marine science and diversity in STEM.
Scholars will live on the campus of CSU Monterey Bay while exploring renowned facilities including MBARI, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and UC Santa Cruz, guided by Ocean Explorer and STEAM Education Professional Dr. Dijanna Figueroa.
Additional program partners include Stanford University's Hopkins Marine Station, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and UC Santa Cruz. The experience builds hands-on skills alongside a strong sense of community and purpose for scholars pursuing careers in ocean science and technology.
