About

Alvin T. Trotter, Jr., is a respected transportation official and community advocate serving on the Board of Directors for the Bridge Builders Foundation (BBF). In his current role, he provides strategic guidance and oversight to help the organization fulfill its mission of providing young people with the opportunity meet and exceed the BAR (Belonging Agency Resilience) that will prepare them to learn, lead, and thrive as they pursue their goals and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.


With over 17 years of experience building transportation infrastructure projects for LA Metro and 30 years in construction, Alvin currently serves as Deputy Executive Officer, Construction Management for LA Metro where he manages a team which handles coordination and construction management coordinating Third-Party and Utility rearrangement work for LA Metro’s Capital Construction Program.  Prior to this, he held positions as Chief Operations Officer and Project Manager for Copper Hill Homes in Yucca Valley, California, overseeing development and construction of a single-family, semi-custom built housing community.  Alvin has also served on the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee for LAUSD. 


In addition to his professional accomplishments, Alvin is deeply committed to giving back to his community.  He volunteers regularly providing mentoring support and is passionate about STEM education programs and workforce development programs for underserved youth.  In his free time, you can find him spending time with his family and friends enjoying music, a good movie, or playing video games with his son.


Alvin holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Real Estate from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and is a licensed general contractor in the State of California.
