Melvin "Mel" Jackson, Jr. is a retired Director of Human Resources for Raytheon Company, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the organization's diversity strategy and community outreach initiatives. As a member of the SAS Human Resources Leadership Team and Raytheon Diversity Council, Mr. Jackson was instrumental in recruiting women and people of color throughout his career spanning over three decades.

With more than 40 years of extensive experience in human resources, he specialized in workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee assimilation across Raytheon's California, Texas, and Mississippi sites. Throughout his career, Mr. Jackson held various leadership positions within Raytheon, including Senior Manager of Human Resources for EOS Engineering, Western Regional Senior Staffing Manager for RSC, and Senior Manager of Staffing for ACS/SRS and Tactical Systems. He began his journey at Raytheon as a technical recruiter and expanded his expertise to include employee relations, labor relations, compensation, and special projects.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Jackson has been actively involved in civic and community activities. He has served on the Advisory Board of Junipero Serra High School, as Executive Director of the Ricky Bell Memorial Scholarship Fund, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the University of Southern California General Alumni Association. He also contributed to the Board of Wellnest LA and Bridge Builders Foundation, showcasing his commitment to education and community development.

A lifelong resident of Los Angeles, Mr. Jackson earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California, where he was recognized as the Top Student Athlete in 1976. He is a certified senior practitioner from the Society of Human Resource Management and has completed advanced leadership programs at CSULB, Hughes, and the Center for Creative Leadership. He is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
